The HSLU Study Tours to Eastern Europe are organized under the guidance and supervision of Michael Derrer with the assistance of the team of ASCENT Swiss Business Management AG.

Michael Derrer has been studying and working in several Eastern European countries and witnessed the transformations since 1988.
He is a business consultant for Swiss companies expanding abroad. On the other hand he teaches economics and economic sociology at HSLU.
Michael fluently speaks several eastern European languages, and acts as a professional interpreter and for Russian, Polish, Romanian and Ukrainian.
From 1997 to 2007 he directed a know-how transfer program to Eastern Europe with more than 400 individual projects in 12 countries.
